Entry : Grade 10 NQF Level 2 Duration : 12 months Certificate in International Trade is an ideal qualification for those who are looking for a solid grounding in the field and/or have not yet decided on a particular specialist stream (i.e. exports or imports). This is NQF Level 2 course and will enable students to progress to advance courses depending on student performance.
Certificate in Freight Handling Entry: Grade 10 NQF Level 3 Duration 12 months Certificate in Freight Handling are for students currently working in the industry or those wanting to pursue a career in the industry. This will provide learners with essential knowledge in the transport environment. It will also provide them with sound knowledge of material handling which is a vital part of the freight handling industry. Some of the aspects covered will be warehousing and distribution, port operations , bulk handling , airfreight , courier operations , stevedoring and forwarding and clearing. Learners will also be provided with forklift training. The outcome of this course will be sound knowledge of administration/planning; handling; storage; transport planning; basic freight handling equipment maintenance. |
Customs Compliance & Freight Forwarding Entry: Grade 12 - Maths & Science&Accounting The basics of this programme is to equip the learner with knowledge of the customs clearance process that Cargo must go through when moving across a border post or through a port. On completion of this course one could attain employment as clearing and forwarding agents. This can be completed in second year as major. Certificate in Ship Operations Entry: Grade 12 NQF Level 4 Duration:12 months Certificate in Ship Operations is those wishing to peruse a career path in ships agency environment, and serves as a foundation for further study in the ships agency industry. It entails maritime geography , international maritime trade , different ship types , various cargoes, cargo-handling equipment, the physics of the ship during cargo work and at sea and the principles of ship cargo operations and control , legal principles applied to the shipping industry, principles of local and international trade , bookkeeping fundamentals, disbursement accounts and agency remuneration , occupational health and safety and the basics of Marine Insurance.
